The lighting of the "steeple" at this breathtaking, Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structure (the Community Christian Church) draws thousands of visitors each year. A beautiful sight to behold, the "steeple" is not actually tangible but is composed of beams of light projecting from the church's perforated dome and into the night sky. First instituted in 1994 ­ when technology and financing conspired to make Wright's vision possible ­ the steeple can be seen for 10 miles and serves as an area landmark and a celebration of Christianity.
